pocstock partners with NativeStock on “We Are Native” photo collection
This year, pocstock partnered with NativeStock Pictures, the leading creator of Native American stock photography to launch an authentic stock photography collection called “We are Native”. Founded by photographer and artist Angel Wynn and headquartered in Santa Fe, New Mexico, NativeStock has been creating and providing stock photos featuring first nation and indigenous tribes in the United States and Canada for over thirty years.
Angel Wynn grew up on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, among the North American Indians tribes of the Pacific Northwest, attending potlatch ceremonies and developing a deep love and admiration for their cultures. This love is evident in her photography and art, which she approaches with a sensitivity and reverence, ensuring full consent among her models and participants and honoring the rules dictated, especially while on tribal lands.
It was critical to show a fuller dimension to first nation tribes, Angel says, to be a bridge bringing communities together and have them be recognized by non-native communities and accepted that the indigenous people are just like everyone else. “Native people are mainstream, they wear clothes like we do, they laugh, they joke, they go to Walmart…”.

Native Americans make up less than 2% of the US population and are often depicted in the media in a very limited and sometimes negative or stereotypical way. As a stock agency that focuses on positive diversity stock imagery, pocstock released this collection to ensure these tribes and communities are shown holistically, in ways that are more than just the “feathers and leathers”.
